If you’re a creative looking for a place to work, head to Westside Atlanta for a day at Bankhead Coffee. Located inside Westside Motor Lounge, this coffee shop offers premium single-origin Ethiopian, Central, and South American roasts. They also have small snacks like homemade granola bars and packaged oatmeal if you’re feeling a bit peckish. 
This coffee shop is owned and operated by Black and Native American woman-owned coffee brand HOT COFFEE Company. Owned by Kat Taylor and her co-owner Brad Hill, Bankhead Coffee was born out of a love for a great cup of java. In an interview with WABE, Taylor shared that when she moved to Grove Park on Atlanta’s Westside five years ago, she often had to travel outside of the historically Black community to get a good cup of coffee. Now, the duo has built a coffee shop for the community. 

According to its website, Bankhead Coffee serves Bankhead, Grove Park, English Avenue, Vine City, Home Park, Atlanta University Center, Georgia Tech, and surrounding Upper Westside communities. 

While the coffee is good, it’s the space that really drew us in. As creatives, we love to work from spaces that inspire us. The interior design of Bankhead Coffee does just that. With ample seating, you can choose to work from their communal table, one of the small tables along the wall, in a cozy corner where a disco ball hangs above you, or on a plush couch in front of the barista area. Upon entering the coffee shop, two couches are perfect for catching up with friends or having an in-person business meeting. 
Unlike most coffee shops, there are plenty of bathrooms and a water fountain to ensure you stay hydrated throughout the day. The vibe is chill and welcoming—the perfect place for strategizing, writing, shooting content, and getting your creative juices flowing. 

Whether you’re a coffee lover or an aesthete enthusiast, this Westside staple should be on your list of places to visit when in the A.
